About High St Methodist Church

Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.
Romans 15:7

All are welcome!

At High Street you will find a welcoming group of people from a variety of backgrounds and cultures.

High Street seeks to be inclusive and welcoming to anyone from any background in any situation. You can find out more about Methodist Visions and Values on The Methodist Church in Great Britain website.

The church and adjoining premises are in constant use each day for a host of organisations and activities. Please check What’s On to see upcoming events.

The church premises are easily accessible to wheelchair users. We have an Induction Loop system in the church for those with hearing aids. Hymn books in large print are available from the Door Stewards.

History

The foundations of the building were laid down in 1841. The church originally belonged to the Countess of Huntingdon’s Connexion but became a Methodist Chapel in 1858.

We have a wealth of information on previous ministers and the church itself on our History page.

Read more about the church’s history on the Circuit Website.
