The Church is on the lookout for a Music Director. A well established choir provides a weekly lead to congregational hymn singing as well as anthems of diverse styles on a regular basis. The choir is supported by a team of experienced organists. In addition a group of various instrumentalists currently provides ad hoc contributions to worship and the growing number of children and young people is also keen to participate in the musical life of the church. We are looking for an enthusiastic Music Director who has a vision for developing and widening the musical life of the church with fresh ideas without losing the traditional musical contributions. So the role would encompass training, conducting and developing the existing choir, building up and integrating their contributions with the musicians and junior music. This could be an ideal role for a musician of any age looking for experience in directing enthusiastic church members who have musical talents which may well be hidden. We are willing to consider anyone who can demonstrate good basic skills as a music director and so formal qualifications are not critical.
