to take upon himself the form of a servant
and to be obedient even to death on a cross.
Give us the same mind that was in Christ Jesus
that, sharing in his humility,
we may come to be with him in his glory;
For he lives and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever, Amen
A warm welcome to the uniformed organizations that are with us,
and participating in the service today.

OTHER NOTICES
- Wednesday October 1st sees the launch of a new monthly meeting in our Church calendar, The Friendship Hour. Meetings are open to everyone and will be held on the first Wednesday of each month. We hope this will be a place where new friendships are formed and old friendships strengthened. Please join us on Wednesday if you can, when our theme is Harvest. For details contact May Tribe (01628 630978) or Gillian Yard (0118 934 5010).
- If anyone would like their name put on the preaching plan list, please telephone Jill Griffiths on 675652
- We know how much the Church Choir is valued on a Sunday to lead the singing, but recently we have lost several members, and we are now in need of some new voices, particularly sopranos. If you feel you could help us, please speak to any choir member. Training could be given if necessary. Please think carefully whether you could help, otherwise we may find it very difficult when the Carol Service etc. comes along.
- Sunday Coffee - maybe YOU would volunteer to serve coffee after Church on Sunday mornings. Please ring 01628 7625823
- Tokens wanted - The Maidenhead Advertiser is offering a share of £20,000 to Community Groups who collect a minimum of 200 tokens from the paper, commencing on the 25th September. Tokens for the Scout Group should be given to Dorothy Minors, or for the Guides should be given to Don or Judy Stimson, or left in the pigeonhole for Claire Boycott.
- Questors House Group Jack Roberts will be leading a series on The Revelation of St John. Please come and join us, everyone is welcome. For more information ring Rosemary and Arthur 01628 633720.
- Jack Roberts in Bourne End is offering some interesting, constructive and relevant Bible Study. He is willing to come to a morning, afternoon or evening group. Please contact Jack at 01628 522 131 to make arrangements.
- Every month Waitrose in Maidenhead donates £1000 to a local charity. Customers are given a green token at point of sale to put in a collection box near the door. Three charities are nominated each month with a percentage of the money going to all of them dependent on the number of tokens collected. The Bridge Trust (which sponsors Re:Charge) and Family Friends have been nominated as two of the charities for this month. Please help us by doing your shopping at Waitrose and donating your token to us.
- Action for Children (formerly NCH) Thank you to all who supported Roger Wilson in last Sunday's Windsor Half Marathon. He raised £765, a great effort on our behalf.
- A team is walking the Maidenhead Boundary Walk on 5th October to raise fund for Re:charge. All monies raised will go towards supporting the work of Re:charge with young families and young people in Maidenhead. If you would like to donate please send your cheque to "The Bridge Trust Thames Valley" at Kingsway House, King Street, Maidenhead SL6 1EB. If you are a UK taxpayer please let them know so they can collect the Gift Aid too as that would be a bonus.
